Andy Murray is a professional tennis player from Scotland. He is currently ranked World No. 4 and is the highest-ranked British player since Fred Perry. Murray reached a career-high ranking of World No. 2 on August 17, 2009 and remained in that position for two weeks till August 31, 2009. He entered into the top 10 in ATP rankings for the first time on April 16, 2007.
Andy Murray is a runner-up at the 2008 US Open where he lost to Roger Federer. He reached the semifinal of Wimbledon 2009 where he lost to American Andy Roddick. At French Open, he is a quarterfinalist in 2009 and he reached the fourth round of Australian Open twice in 2007 and 2009.
Murray won the BBC Scotland Sports Personality of the Year Award and the sport section of the Top Scot awards. He began playing tennis at age of three.
