In an extraordinary battle, Serena Williams beat Russina Elena Dementieva to enter the 2009 Wimbledon Final. Two time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams rallied from one set down and saved a match point while trailing 5-4 in the third set. Dementieva who was the finalist at the French Open and US Open in 2004 never won a grand slam title. The match lasted 2 hours 49 minutes. Serena needed 3 sets to reach the final, and intrestingly neither of the players have dropped a set all through the tournament.

Serena Williams will play sister Venus Williams in the final of Wimbledon 2009. Venus Williams beat Dinara Safina 6-1, 6-0 in the other semi-final
