Roger Federer wins record 15th Grand Slam title

Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick 5-7, 7-6(6), 7-6(5), 3-6, 16-14 in the final of 2009 Wimbledon to win his record 15th Grand Slam title. In a match that lasted 4 hours and 15 minutes on the Centre Court, Roger Federer emerged as winner in a 5 set marathon that went 16-14 in the final set. This is Roger's 15th Grand Slam title, 6th Wimbledon Title and with this win, he regained his No. 1 ranking.

Federer couldn't break Roddick's serve till the last game of the match. He fired a career-high 50 aces in a memorable match that goes into the record books as the longest men's Grand Slam final in history at 77 games.

Tennis Legends Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras were present on the court to watch the match. After breaking his record of major titles, Pete Sampras called Roger Federer a legend for his achievements and praised him for his humbleness. 'In my Book, he is the greatest', said Sampras on Federer.

This match became the most-viewed men's final at the All England Club in 10 years. According to NBC, an average of 5.71 million people watch the match thursday.
