Melanie Oudin upsets Jelena Jankovic in Wimbledon 2009 Third Round Match

In the biggest upset of the tournament in the women's draw, former World No. 1 Jelena Jankovic was beaten by 17 year old American qualifier Melanie Oudin in the third round of the 2009 Wimbledon. Melanie Oudin beat Jelena Jankovic 6-7, 7-5, 6-2 to reach the fourth round of the 2009 Wimbledon. Ranked 124 in the world, not many would have thought Melanie could send Jankovic tumbling out of the tournament.

Melanie Oudin who is making her Wimbledon debut will face Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska. Agnieszka Radwanska def Na Li 6-4, 7-5.

Jankovic has had a busy schedule all through the year. Her last big grand slam games - Australian Open and French Open have shown her in better performance. She has to exit in the fourth round of the Australian open . She played some good game in the 2009 French Open but lost to Sorana Cirstea, again in the fourth round. In May this year, she lost in the quarter finals of Women's Internazionali BNL d'Italia and Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open. Earlier in this month, she played but lost in the first round of AEGON International in the hands of Anna Chakvetadze.
