Andy Roddick defeated British No. 1 Andy Murray amidst a crowd that supports Murray more than Roddick. In another thrilling match, Andy Roddick defeated World No. 3 Murray 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(9-7), 7-6(7-5) to reach the final of Wimbledon 2009, where he will meet Five time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer.

In the court-side interview, Andy Roddick felt he could win the final against Federer though he had a poor head-to-head record against him. Roddick won the first set breaking Murray's service in the 10th game of the match. Murray immediately broke Roddick's serve in the first game of the second set and went to win the second set 6-4. Roddick won the third and fourth sets in a tiebreak to reach his third Wimbledon final. He lost to Roger Federer in the final of 2004 and 2005. Roger Federer earlier beat Tommy Haas to reach the final.
