An All-American or All-Russina Women's final at Wimbledon 2009

It will be an all-American or all-Russian final at the Wimbledon this year, or rather, an all-Williams or all-Russian final. Two time defending champion and American Venus Williams will play Top seed Russian Dinara Safina in the first semi-final, while Serena Williams will play another Russian Elena Dementieva in the other semi-final. All the top 4 seeds of the Wimbledon Women's Singles are in the semi-finals this year.

Venus Williams hopes this year it will be an all-Williams final. "I would love it to be a Williams final, and so would she," "That would be great.", she said. Venus will be quitely confident going into the semi-finals. She crushed Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 6-2 in her quarter-final match. "Do I feel invincible? I'd like to say yes, but I really do work at it.", she said.

Venus Williams has a 2-1 edge over her semi-final opponent Dinara Safina.
"I know what she's doing," "I know her weapons. I have my weapons... If I play my best, and she plays the best, it's 50-50 who's going to win the match." said Safina.

Serena Williams had a 5-3 record over Elena Dementieva. At the wimbledon, they played in the fourth round in the 2002 tournament with Serena winning 6-2, 6-2. "This time I'm going to play a different player and it's going to be all new," "I just want to see how tough I can be out there against her, just looking for some good fight.", Dementieva said.
