Serena Williams rallied to defeat Maria Sharapova 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 in the final. Her sixth title at Key Biscayne was one more than Steffi Graf achieved at the same venue. Losing the first set, Serena Williams managed to break Sharapova in the fifth game of the second set and then went on to win 10 successive games to win the title.
